Park Fees & Conservation Fees
Every visitor entering Serengeti National Park pays a park entry fee. This money supports wildlife protection, park management, and community development around the ecosystem.

Note: Peak Season (typically July–March) is at the higher end of the range, while Low Season (April–June) is lower.
In addition to park entry fees, visitors also pay:
- Concession fee if staying inside the park at tented camps or lodges, usually around $60 to $70 per person per night.
- Ngorongoro Crater fee if combining safari with Ngorongoro Crater, which includes a separate crater service fee per vehicle.
Some private concessions and special camps may include these conservation and concession fees within their package price. Always confirm with your safari operator to avoid surprises.

When to Go: Seasonal Price Impact
Wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park is good all year. But prices change based on season and migration movement.
Peak Season (July – October)
Great Migration river crossings in northern Serengeti

This is the busiest time. Camps in the north fill quickly. Book at least 8 to 12 months in advance for best camp choices.
Green Season (April – May)
Rainy season with dramatic skies and fewer vehicles
Up to 20 to 30% lower rates
This is the quietest period. Birdlife is excellent. Some camps close during heavy rains, but photographers often love this time.
Shoulder Season (Nov – March)
Calving season in southern Serengeti
Standard or slightly reduced rates
This period offers a good balance of weather, wildlife, and pricing. From January to March, thousands of wildebeest calves are born in the southern plains.
