Best Time to Visit Sossusvlei

October to April
Hotter months with very high daytime temperatures. Early morning visits are recommended.
Sunrise is the best time to visit the dunes, as the light creates strong shadows and highlights the shapes of the sand.

How to Reach Sossusvlei
Sossusvlei is located in the Namib Desert and is accessible from major towns in Namibia.
By air: Fly to Windhoek and then take a domestic flight to nearby airstrips such as Sesriem.
By road: Drive from Windhoek to Sesriem, which takes around 5 to 6 hours. From Sesriem, a 4×4 vehicle is required to reach Sossusvlei.
Most visitors enter through the Sesriem gate.
