Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Musanze
Arrive at Kigali International Airport where your guide will meet you and give a short briefing about the tour. From here, drive north towards Musanze, the closest town to Volcanoes National Park.
The drive takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills with scenic views along the way. On arrival, check in at your lodge, settle in and relax for the evening.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga Mountains. At the park headquarters, rangers give a detailed briefing about trekking rules and safety.
You then begin your trek through forest terrain in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can take a few hours depending on the group location. Once you find them, you spend time observing their behavior, watching them feed and interact in their natural habitat.
After this experience, trek back and return to your lodge. Spend the evening at leisure and have dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek and Return to Kigali
After breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for a golden monkey trek. These monkeys live in the bamboo forests and are known for their active and playful behavior.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, drive back to Kigali with scenic stops along the way. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Departure
After breakfast, take a short city tour of Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to understand the country’s history. You can also stop at local craft markets for souvenirs.
After the tour, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
